Also dose the brand, have anything to do with the way the movie will look on your t.v., dose the quality of the player have anything at all to do with it or could we still get the same viewing quality if we buy a “cheap” one?
If this helps we do have a HD LCD Sony flat screen.
We do have a ps3 but I just didn’t know if the quality of the best blue ray player was good ,so thanks

Check out cnet.com, they have reviews on all electronics.
Obviously you get what you pay for but in my opinion I would go with Sony. They’re going to be maybe a bit more expensive than the others but Sony’s are always extremely easy to use and always have very simple on screen menus. The only thing that will change with the brand are the on screen menus. Oh, and there’s no such thing as a “cheap” best blue ray player, the quality of best blue ray it self is amazing.
Hears a ‘cheap’ one. Also Ps3’s can be used as a blu ray player.
The best blu ray player to my opinion is the PS3. i have one and use it as a dvd/blu ray player. The main reason I say a ps3 is because it has a wireless adapter in the back .Therfore you can connect to the internet wirelessly and use the online bonuses on the blu ray discs. Otherwise, if you want to use the online features on the blu ray discs on a regular player, you would have to connect a ethernet cable from your computer to your tv. The online features are neat and fun, especially on the Dark Kinght movie blu ray.
PS: the quality of your picture depends on your HDMI cable, it should be fine on a sony tv. Any sony product looks best on a sony tv. So a sony bluray or a ps3 is best quality.
There are some nice features coming out on Blu Ray players including ability to network through the web to watch videos through netflix. When we bought ours I was not even thinking about this feature but it has proved very useful when you want to watch a streamed movie in the spur of the moment. When you do buy a player it is important to figure out if you are going to have surround sound hooked up to it either now or in the future. The cheapest players will generally not have the audio output option for surround sound and that does make a huge difference in your viewing experience. We bought a Samsung 2550 because the Sony’s they had available were 1st generation and lacked some features.
